Süheyla, one of our valued patients from Germany, first came to us after facing numerous difficulties with her dental implants. She had two dental implants in her upper jaw that had fallen out and was struggling with a gum infection in her lower jaw. Thorough Examination and Diagnosis

Upon arriving at our clinic, we conducted a detailed examination using X-rays and 3D tomography. The results revealed that Süheyla had a serious gum infection in her lower jaw and that two of her upper dental implants had completely fallen out. Additionally, she was suffering from implantitis around her remaining implants, which was contributing to her pain and discomfort.

What is Implantitis?

Implantitis is an infection that occurs around dental implants, leading to inflammation of the surrounding gum tissue and, in severe cases, loss of supporting bone. If left untreated, implantitis can cause the implant to fail. Treatment involves thoroughly cleaning the infected area, removing any damaged tissue, and sometimes adding bone grafting to support the implant.

Comprehensive Treatment Plan

At Diamond Dental Antalya, we assured Süheyla that her condition could be successfully treated. Our plan involved a multi-step process, starting with the extraction of the infected teeth. In the same session, we performed a bilateral sinus lift (on both the right and left sides of her upper jaw) and placed bone grafts to prepare for new dental implants. After cleaning around the remaining implants to address the implantitis, we placed 4 new implants in both the upper and lower jaws and fitted temporary teeth.
